Africans win all four gold medals in Houston 2019 Marathons .

In a race with close to 27.000 participants from Houston , Africa , Europe , South America and Asia , four Africans won the gold medals in the top men and female positions of the Chevron and Aramco half Houston Marathon .
Korir from Kenya won the first place overall and Degefa of Ethopia the first woman in the Chevron 26miles marathon .
Shuru Kitata of Ethopia won the first place overall and Brigid Kosgie of Kenya the female first in the Aramco half marathon .
They are all going home with many thousands of dollars .
Mayor Sylvester Turner of Houston held a portion of the banner at the final line as Korir ran with it , hitting his chest as if to self proclaim himself the champion .
The early Sunday morning race started in a very cold weather , and events of which ended the final day of the Houston marathon weekend which ran from the 18-20th of January 2019 .
