National association for the advancement of colored people ACE festival in progress .


From today through Thursday, August 6, the ACE Festival will showcase exclusive digital events highlighting the power and impact of the arts in our community. Explore the portrayal of African Americans in the media and the efforts of Black artists to utilize media platforms to address issues of social justice.

The festival will also feature presentations and an award ceremony for NAACP’s Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) program. August 12 will begin our virtual ACT-SO competition, the culmination of our yearlong achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate, and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students. The competition will conclude on August 14 with the awards ceremony taking place August 15.

The exciting line-up for the ACE Festival includes:

  • Art & Entertainment: “The Proud Family” Reunion including Kyla Pratt, Tommy Davidson and Cedric The Entertainer; Disney Pixar’s "SOUL" Q&A + more
  • Sports & Activism: ESPN’s Undefeated - Time for Change and “A Most Beautiful Thing” Screening and Q&A with Grant Hill + more
  • ACE Festival Short Film Showcase: Swim, It’s Not All Black and White, The Mud and Counter
  • ACT-SO: Awards and Competition

Each session will offer opportunities to engage, entertain, and enlighten.
