President Trump has nominated Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the
replace late Supreme Court justice, Ruth Ginsburg.
An excerpt from the acceptance speech she made during the
appointment ceremony at the White House Ross Garden sums up the moment, " I have no illusions that the road ahead of me will be easy for the short term and or long haul ".
in spite of the president's belief that she is a woman of unparalleled achievement, towering intellect, sterling credentials, and unyielding loyalty to the constitution, one of the nations, a most brilliant and gifted mind, she makes clear that the near future may not be an easy ride.
Though President Trump, as if dictating the manner and timing of the confirmation to USA senators ,a process which on average normally takes close to three months, says her confirmation should be quick though how quick was not said.
The president asked democrats to provide her with respect though Democrats are not the only senators to vet her.
President Trump also asked the media to avoid personal attacks of her, as if to say the present attacks from media outlets that the process is unfair compared to what operated in 2016 with the Obama nomination of Judge Garland that was not only attacked by conservative media outlets but unconstitutionally stopped by republicans following attacks from then a candidate for president, Donald Trump.
Senate majority leader McConnel immediately praised her as " exceptionally impressive jurist and an exceedingly qualified nominee to the Supreme Court".
Justice Barret says the court is an institution that belongs to all and she will not assume the role of justice of the court, for the sake of those in her own circle, though contradicting the wishes o
f those who have appointed her and the republican senators scheming to rush the process in a few weeks.
She assures the people that she will yield to the constitution, which is not a partisan ideological legal construct, not a theocratic paper, providing for making decisions based on tests of "if they are sanctioned in the Bible and or her faith".
Those who are already protesting against her believes her statements today, are just an opportunity or pretext to get confirmed, after which she will sit in the court and help destroy Roe v Wade and also Obama care.
The rush to confirm her within weeks instead of an average of three months as is the custom, many say is that she will join other conservative judges to side with President Trump over Biden, should there be a contested 2020 November 3rd presidential election outcome.
Democratic Senate minority leader has responded to her nomination by Trump saying " Shamelessly rushing to fill justice Ginsburg, s seat less than 40 days before a presidential election.
On Tuesday, September 29th, 2020, Ameri
cans will have the opportunity to hear some of these issues play out in the first presidential debate.
In 2016, it was let the American people decide, said republicans, and this time around with the shoe in the other foot, it is, Republican senators to decide through the rushed process as requested.
