Health Equity Response team of Houston has released the guidance for safe opening of Churches.

Mayor Sylvester, Turner of Houston on Friday 16th October 2020 announced and presented the hard copies of the comprehensive guidelines for the prevention of Covid19 for Sanctuaries and faith-based organizations.
The guidelines are recommendations from the Mayor, s Health Equity Response task force and it, s subcommittee on Faith and community leaders, the event took place at the legacy room of city hall.
Faith leaders in attendance included Dr. Arisha Hillard, pastor of New light church who took over from her father Dr. Hilliad, Rev Rodrigo Vargas of Union Houston, and the members of the Health Equity task force.
Dr. Hiliard and Rev Vargas gave the simple prevention measures in the guidelines they will adhere to, including signage at parking lots asking people to wear a mask as they advance to the sanctuaries, physical presence to 25% building or room capacities, hand sanitizer stations, wearing of mass and possible temperature check before admission into buildings.

The mayor thanked the faith leaders for collaboration over the months and made it clear that should their churches and congregants observe the guidance in the reopening guidelines, they will help reduce the spread of Corona Virus in the city.
