Many Americans are confused by the difference of third dose or Booster dose in Covid vaccines.
Global health experts continue to advice and clarify issues related to Covid19 vaccination around the world .
People should understand that each country has it,s own national vaccination policy and strategies or plans with specific guidelines.
In a sense , a third dose is a form of booster people like to calm ir so or not .
What is the meaning of booster to beginning with ?.
The are vaccines in national vaccination plans that are given in three doses scheduled and single dose vaccines that may need a booster.
The united states global health authorities fir the sake of clarification have made a distinction between third doses and boosters ,though both categories are third doses and the immunocompromised may even need a fourth or fifth dose along the line.
Those with compromised immune systems like HIV/AIDS patients , cancer patients on chemotherapy and related unborn errors of metabolism that lead to congenital immune diseases may be qualified for a third dose of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and may be a 2nd dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine . Why not second dose then instead of third dose fir the immunocompromised?.
The are close to 7 vaccines against Sars Cov2 approved by the World health organization.
Those with immunocompromised states may need extra shots to help their immune system of all the vaccines available in the USA which could be 2nd dose and or third dose.
Boosters in the USA is only for the Pfixer Biontech vaccines as prescribed by the FDA and CDC .
The boosters for now are only for certain groups of people ,which include seniors of 65 years and above , and those with high risk of severe disease which have been added front line health care workers and teachers .
Immunocompromised people can get an extra dose of all the three vaccines in circulation and ordered by their practitioners, and are told not to mix the vaccines because bioscience evidence is not available to confirm that desire.
Boosters are clear and third and or second dose should be carefully understood. The can be a second dose for the immunocompromised of the J and J vaccine and a third dose for the immunocompromised for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines .
Boosters are only available for those who took the pfizer vaccine presently, and the rest should wait for the FDA to deliberate on the Moderna and J and J requests for booster shots.
