WHO’s Dr Princess Nothemba (Nono) Simelela, Special Advisor to the Director-General on Cervical Cancer and Sexual and Reproductive Health, and Ms Elizabeth Iro, Chief Nursing Office are leading the Organization’s delegation to the Women Deliver 2019 Conference, in Vancouver, Canada from 3 – 6 June 2019.

With more than 6000 participants, Women Deliver is set to be the world’s largest conference on gender equality and the health, rights, and well-being of girls and women in the 21st century.

Gender equality is key to achieving universal health coverage and assuring sustainable development. Together with the Health Research Partnership (HRP) and the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (PMNCH), WHO will convene over 30 sessions on some of the most pressing health issues for women and girls globally - from sexual and reproductive rights to maternal health, violence against women and girls, cervical cancer, fertility and gender equity in the health workforce.
